Coffee maker

I have a really small kitchen so I need to spare as much space as I can. So I don't have room for a coffee filter or an expresso machine, so I found this coffee making device is a shop and thought it will be just perfect.

(picture: me, experimenting still with editing)

It works on the same principles as an expresso machine. You put water in the lover side, then it has a small part that comes over the water in which you put a few spoons of coffee and over it comes the upper side of the device. Put it over the fire and when the water heats, the steam goes though the coffee and ends up in the upper side. And there you have you fresh coffee :)
I think I'll make a cold cappuccino ;)

I'm going to meeeeeelttttttttttttt!!!!!

Damn it is HOT outside! I hate summer right now :S I would love summer if it would have warm (not hot and airless) days and cool nights, but here is just over the top heat!

Now moving on to the thing I wanted to share with you today: we're moving to a new blog soon. As soon as I finish with the "designing" and arranging part :)
Hope you'll like ;)

I need to do this as I cannot keep 3 blogs (yes, that actually crossed my mind :D):
this one (personal blog), a cooking blog (not yet released publicly, but it's up and running for a while now) and a craft blog (still in project phase). So I will do 1 single blog to include it all.
I'll try to make 3 list, so you'll be able to separate the 3 main themes of the blog... or some other method, still figuring that part out ;)

Enjoy the summer (if you like this heat)! It's just too much for me though.

The Story of Cosmetics

Many of you may or may not agree with the following video, but the baseline is true and you should consider the possibility to wisely choose your personal care products.

I, at least, am very selective with what I put into and on my body.
U can't even imagine what goes into our beauty and care products :S :(

Picture editing

Btw, I am total mess in editing pictures, so HELP anyone!?
Do you have good tutorials or guide books I could use?

Ty!

I'm a girl that is satisfied and happy with a simple life...

...why is it that these days nobody believes this? Everyone thinks I'm making fun of them when I say that. I don't need much to be happy.
Everyone wants to be rich, successful, hot or famous to be happy, but that is not necessarily happiness.Ask famous or rich people! How many of them get suicidal because "their life is/was hard" or get hooked on on drogs or alcohol or sex as they cant handle their "exciting and happy rich life".
So this isn't a warranty for happiness, no matter how much you'd want to believe that.

I was born in a simple family (not poor that is true, my parents always took care that we have everything needed, but didn't pampered us from principle, not because they couldn't and they did well) and I think that this was more then enough for us to have a happy childhood, have fun, make friends and learn.
I look at kids nowadays: their vacation is fashionable only their parents take them to an exotic holiday and buy them a lot of unnecessary but "cool" stuff.
We didn't care that much about holidays and stuff (ok, maybe we did like barbie dolls, cars and cartoon hero dolls a bit), but friends and the possibility to explore the outside world was so much more fun and educational. I don't want see what kind of adults these kids will grow up to be...

Btw this post was inspire by an IKEA bedroom (it's amazing from where inspiration comes sometimes :P). More specifically, this one:

I was thinking when I saw this: "How cute and simple! This would be enough for a college or rented room. ok, maybe I would by an extra drawer, but basically this is enough for starters".
As long as you have your hope, dreams and you're not ashamed or lazy to work, the rest will come with time. Stuff come and go, so don't get attached to them. I realised that a long time ago, since I started moving a lot as I couldn't carry all my stuff around with me everywhere I went. Most of my stuff I have are still stored at home in my old room.

Oh, in case I haven't told you about this: i have stashed of articles on different themes: home, fashion, health, interesting articles, beauty, etc..
This is my "home folder" for example:

I gather all kind of pictures and articles that I love from magazines, brochures, internet, etc. This is where I found the room from IKEA that is above.
I am also a huge Ikea fan. Simple, affordable and very practical. Also, very versatile. The company and the furnishing product lines give you a huge range of ideas, support and a lot of room to juggle with them.
just look at these rooms:

How about you? What makes each and every one of you happy?

Bloo

I wanted to write about my lovely friend for a long time now, but I just couldn't find the inspiration to describe her and her hobby in the most wonderful way :)
Bloo is a wonderful and smart foxy lady and her hobby is nail art.
We were room-mates for a while in college and she actually picked up this hobby from our other room-mate Phoebe who had (still does I guess :P) an obsession with having a different manicure each week. Well Bloo took this to a totally new level, to an art form which she masters quite well may I say (although she sees herself as a beginner if you would ask her).
This is not an abstract form of nail art which you need special training or tools for.
Of course you need a few shades of nail polish (whatever you prefer) a dotting tool or a toothpick (yes, you read right) and a whole lot of patience, creativity and exercise :)
The limit is where your creativity ends and Bloo has an imagination that knows no limits :D

She also makes nail design tutorials for who wants to learn to make the designs. These tutorials are detailed step by step from the base coat to the top coat, check them out on her YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/bloospider

Here are a few of her designs to enchant your eyes and make you wish to try this creative hobby ;)

Lunch Boxes

hey,

I was thinking that I should really start taking home made food to the office as well.
After gaining some unexpected weight (I really cant figure out how and why) I decided that probably my lunch food has too much calories ... if not then I really have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I don't eat junk food, anything that is processed food, too salty or sweet stuff (closer to non from the second category, better said), greasy food, fried stuff, etc. More then this and I'm going to eat only fruits, veggies and teas :D
Of course that I still have some occasional "sins" related my eating habits, but these are occasional and not from the above mentioned categories :)

sooo, getting back to the lunch boxes. Remember when we were young and small mom packed sandwiches and fruits to school? God, she screwed her brains out to make us interesting and tasty snacks to assure that we will not throw them away and we will eat it. I can only see this now, then it seemed so natural and normal.

Made a search on Google to see some ideas to lunch boxes and I found some cute and interesting ideas for boxes and recipes and I'm here to share them with you also, maybe you also have some thought of taking home made food with you ;)

THE CHILDREN’S LUNCH BOX by Linda Bugaziyanos over at http://www.bodymindfit.ca/
Why would children be more privileged then adults when it come to healthy, fun and tasty lunches :)

Korean Lunch Box
Looks yummy :)

Take a look at this post, how cute these boxes are?! It would be a pitty not to make food this good looking :D

Clean up

Hello!

I recently read this post on Make+Meaning.
Very enlightening! How true it is!?

(please read the blog post linked before continuing, so you can understand better what follows)

Just take my case. When I was only an occasional visitor of the cyberspace I was creating, doing, making something all the time. The ideas and patterns I got from older and newer books were a treasure for me. Although I knew how to search on the internet, I didn't, I preferred to go to the library and spend hours looking at books or magazines from all over the world. And that was so inspirational for me. Just me and the books in a quiet space. All of these were weekly habits of mine.
And God a learned a lot!

Now what? I moved away and I don't even know where the library is in the new city (and I've been here for the last 3 years).
Got a job in an IT company doing admin work, 8 hours a day, after that I come home and spend the rest of the evening still behind the desk surfing the internet for blogs and interesting stuff other people do and I don't have the time any more to do.
How pathetic that is? :P

So, the first step was to reduce drastically the number of blogs I follow, because really, not all of them are as interesting as I was hoping for (no offence!).
I only kept the ones I do enjoy following and the ones where the bloggers do bother to post at least one post per month. No offence intended to anyone, this was necessary for my peace of mind.
Second, I will try to give up the games I am unnecessarily playing on Facebook. Quite fun, but useless to be frank.
Third... well, I am still thinking :) but the late spring cleaning has started and I'm not planning on stopping until I feel that the internet is not stopping me from actually living. The internet should be helping us and not stopping us, dont get caught up with it ppl!

Enjoy your life!

Back to origins...

I wanted to tell you today about a friend of mine (I know ur reading this honey), but I just can't find the words to do her justice so I will delay a bit the post about her until I will be able to tell u how much I admire her and love her talent(s) and her for that fact :)

Lately I've been rather down. Too tired, too stressed, too ... just too much.
I'm trying hard to overstep this period (I'm hoping this is just a period), but it just doesn't seem to pass on already.

I am trying to concentrate on what is really important at this point and ignore what is bothering (as it is something that can't be changed for now, unfortunately) so I can get back some peace of mind, but nothing seems to work.
At this point I think it is time to "turn back to origin", back to the point when I was doing only what I liked and what I didn't like I just got read off. It is time for the "get rid off" part :)

Don't worry, it will pass, everything passes :)

The tunes that obsess me these days are:

And so today I can count a couple of songs that I obsessively repeat in my head and on my play list. These are:....

1. "September - Until I Die" for the lyrics

2. "Demi Lovato - Remember December" for the passion she puts in her singing and her voice

3. "Selena Gomez & The Scene - Naturally" so young, what a voice and a personality :P

4. "Paramore - Brick By Boring Brick" darn good voice! "para para pa pa ra!"

5. "SID - Szabad Vagyok" Original lyrics. Best I heard in the last few years, may I add.

6. "INFERNAL - Electric Light"

7. "The Cardigans - I Need Some Fine Wine and You, You Need To be Nicer"
Just to exemplify why : "Bad dog! Sit!" >:D

8. "Sky - Love Show" this is an older one, but too beautiful to miss out :)

9. "Gotan Project - Mi Confesion" Just because it is special.

10. "Charlie Winston - Like a Hobo" a definite MUST!

11. "DOLORES O'RIORDAN - When we were young" Just unique ...

12. "Nightwish - While Your Lips Are Still Red" -> legends...

13. "Faye Wong - Bu Liu" most tranquil song ever heard...

Easter Eggs

Since I was little I had a fascination for lovely things. I'm like the crows that are attracted to shiny things. If something is bling, I'm there :D
My fascination also includes the tiny and fragile Easter Eggs and the skills needed to decorate them.
Absolutely fascinating!

Here are some examples so you can understand by obsession:
1. Russian eggs

2. Romanian Traditional Eggs

3. Ukrainian Eggs

picture from here

and so on :)

These are just some examples of the huge range of these beautiful creation.

Enjoy!
